Is it just me?

Glorious Early Summer Weekend in Melbourne. Getting house ready for Christmas means I do the easy stuff, like fetching the boxes and bags of Decorations from the storage area, and Dee does her thing with thought and care. End results is always great but it does require some effort on Dee's behalf. The girls made themselves scarce. Dee wanted a side garden tweaked up, plus we needed to take her wood working project (a desk turned into a coffee table) over to Acky (a friend) for special attention so that meant that I needed to clear out the bits of rubbish from the trailer and load it up with the coffee table. Once on the way to Acky's, Dee mentioned that she would like a load on mulch, now that the trailer was empty. -sigh- Yes dear. While at Acky's we were gifted an old BBQ, so it was back home, after a quick chat and a cup of tea, with the BBQ well strapped into the trailer. Once home, I emptied the trailer and headed off to the Garden Supply people. I ordered and ...

Everything Changes...All the Time

My chosen title is a reflection of, and inspired by, the changes this blogging tool seems to have every month. This 'rate of change' doesn't appear to have any purpose but I have to believe that somewhere, deep down, it must, the purpose is just too complicated to share with us ordinary folk. This change is also happening in the other parts of my life. For instance, we have gone to the bank and are in the belief, thanks to the broker, that a house building loan is within our grasp. This is good, because with this loan, we can build our home soon, and stop paying rent. Change is also happening at work, with the near completion of one major project, and the starting of several more changes possible now that the concentration on that project has been removed. All things considered, the project I have in mind will change the working day of 1200 people, so I better be thinking about it a lot. Time to wake up the girls and get on with the day. I'm off to the rugby tonight...

Six monthly review

In the passed six months I have quit my old job cruising around the streets of Werribee, and instead I'm now leading a small and talented group of people in the IT dept of a progressive law firm. (A way better job, with better pay, people and prospects) Dee and I are saving our pennies, looking forward to the day when we can return to the bank to ask them for a building loan to build on our land. The dogs and cats strangely still need feeding every day, so I tend to do that for them. The girls are starting to leave the nest, spending their holidays house sitting for other folk and hanging out more with their BFs. Summer in Australia is a hot time so many things involving working outside are deferred until the day cools down. This means that if I awake early, I tend to quietly potter about the house until the girls wake up. I'm doing that right now. I still have many projects on the go. Currently I'm trying to spend more time studying my work skills, learning abo...
