What a stuffed up year it's been

I'm sad and blue about the complete failure of this year and most of this decade to be great for me and my family, but mostly for me The list of things that are wrong is long and the upsides were few and far between. I am in a sadness debt and I need to find some way to save up the happiness to counter balance this sadness As it is 31st Dec 2009, it is relevant for me to review the past sad year, so here goes nothing, and I mean nothing good that is... January: hot days and boring work. Started to build Dee's b'day of paving in the back yard. Kirby changed school and we needed to buy new uniforms and books, as they didn't have a progressive computer plan at the new school. Casey didn't get the uni offer she needed and ended up at Vic Uni with a limited range of course selections Dee's condition was making her tired and the heat certainly did not help. February: Even hotter days and bush fires, but not in our part of town. Continued to build the paving. Putting t...

The weekend looms

Another week has flown by with several things being achieved during that time. I met a man that may have a job for me, Casey got into working instead of sleeping, Kirby spent a bit of time hanging with her BF John, and Dee kept on keeping on. The new old dog (Annie) had a hair cut that turned her into a whippet, so much so, that Gizmo didn't recognised her at first, but slow though he is, he eventually worked it out. They had a swim at the beach to celebrate Spring. We made a compromise on the new house plans to fit it on to the block without upsetting the local councilmen and we finalise those plans next week.

Life endures

I have begun to do more physical work around the house, between the rainy bits and job hunting. I'm now nearly able to vacuum the whole house before getting tired/bored. The dirty windows beckon and taunt me with their lack of attention. The dogs are getting walked on a semi regular basis but they do mess and stink up the place at times. The cats aren't much better, but you can't yell at them, can you? The money is holding out and it is a comfort to know that both the girls can can afford their little adventures on the money they earn themselves. Dee is well, and busy with work, which is good I hope. She spends a lot of time on her laptop in bed, surrounded by paperwork, with a phone by her side. Millions of people would love to work all day in their pajamas I'm sure, but we carry on. I'm re-reading classic Heinlein, following the Future Universe series of the Moon is a Hard Mistress, Space Family Stone, Cat who Walks through Walls etc, and embracing There Ain't...

Weekly round up

I've spent the past week working on getting as many resumes posted out and applications lodged. the rejection notices are starting to flow back, but I need to remember that that is just part of the deal. I recieved my final pay from the old job, and now I know where my budget lies and how much time I have(roughly) before the funds run out. Time for me to pull finger so to speak. I've tried to keep busy around the house, with washing and dusting high on the lists. I'm always amazed how quickly three girls, two dogs, and two cats can trash a place, but I will endure.... I've managed to indulge my whim and I partitioned my main hard drive into two drives, without losing any data at this stage, and I installed Windows 7 RC1 into the new partition. The old XP box now dual boots, so I have an XP system, and a play Win7 system so I'll be doing a bit of learning along the way. I've also created an Ubuntu USB boot disk, but I haven't tested it fully, as Casey is taki...

The Weekend Report - Fathers Day

Another busy weekend, filled with housework, taxi-ing children about from place to place, a bit of gardening (light) some pet walking and ball kicking. Still watched too much TV, but hey, with the Pay TV pouring all my current current favourite TV shows into my recorder, I have to watch it or lose it... I did manage to burn the Classic Album series onto DVD to be watched at my leisure in the distant future...

OK, this is becoming silly...another 5 months since...

...my last confession. The nuns will be disappointed with me. So what's been happening since the last post back in January. Well, Casey is now at a local Uni, doing an Art Degree, Kirby changed school and settled into it very well. She is doing year 11, which means she has to be a bit more responsible for her work. Kirby also has a part-time job at a kids playground/party room business. Dee is spending more time working from home, and I'm spending more time working in the office. My roles is morphing into a Sales role, and I'm not entirely happy about it, but there is enough there to keep me coming back. We've sold the house and are now looking for a new home, but not having much luck. We won't be out on the street though, as we have the option of staying here for 12 months after the sale goes through. Still have to find somewhere else but. Meg the cat died, and we have not replaced her, but Bear the cat is not getting beaten up as much now. Mack still rules, and is...

Jeez, where did that nine months go?

I've been remiss in posting here, and now I feel bad about it. Plenty of stuff has been going on so let me summarise it quickly and maybe get back on track again. I got another job. I'm a Consultant for TimeFrame, and we specialise in IT Billing systems for Law and Accounting firms...the big ones. I managed (mismanage?) the Melbourne office Casey graduated from high school. Her VCE scores weren't stellar, but still ok to get access to many many univerisities. We are waiting to see what happens there. Casey went to Bali for her schoolies break (3 weeks) Kirby is still chilling with her friends. she got her BMX. She decided to change school rather that drop out, and this year she will school locally and is getting ready fo a Deb ball in August. Dee is happy in her job, but she was diagnosed with MS late last year and had an incident before Chirstmas when her legs stopped working properly and she ended up in Hospital on a drip. Our Christmas new year was very quite, and we dro...
