Is it just me?

Glorious Early Summer Weekend in Melbourne.

Getting house ready for Christmas means I do the easy stuff, like fetching the boxes and bags of Decorations from the storage area, and Dee does her thing with thought and care. End results is always great but it does require some effort on Dee's behalf. The girls made themselves scarce.

Dee wanted a side garden tweaked up, plus we needed to take her wood working project (a desk turned into a coffee table) over to Acky (a friend) for special attention so that meant that I needed to clear out the bits of rubbish from the trailer and load it up with the coffee table. Once on the way to Acky's, Dee mentioned that she would like a load on mulch, now that the trailer was empty. -sigh- Yes dear.

While at Acky's we were gifted an old BBQ, so it was back home, after a quick chat and a cup of tea, with the BBQ well strapped into the trailer. Once home, I emptied the trailer and headed off to the Garden Supply people. I ordered and paid for half a cubic metre of the stuff, and one tractor scoop later I was on my way home. Too easy. Once I got home, I started to wonder if I'd been ripped off. The load seemed smaller than those I'd had in the past. A quick measure of the trailer revealed that it was 1.20m x 1.80m x .30m deep. My spreadsheet told me that that was .64m cubic meters, so I took a photo of the trailer load. Does this look like .5 cubic metre of mulch to you?

Any how, the mulch is now spread over the garden bed and it looks and smells great.

Apart from that, we had a busy old weekend. Friday night we went to Donna's for drinks, and Graham impressed me by filling up one glass with a complete bottle of wine, then proceeded to drink that during the evening, needless to say, he was on water by the time we left. Saturday saw me sneaking in a few extra minutes sleep while Dee, Donna and Sue went off shopping for a wee house made of chocolate. Dee managed to lose her credit card and I had to cancel it. I caught up on some TV shows I'd being tracking down. A quiet night at home set me up nicely of Sunday. A bit of housework (dishes and hanging out laundry, a long chat with Mum on the phone, and then the stuff with the trailer I mentioned above. The afternoon was relaxed , and we chatted with Casey and her friend Kim, while playing with the cats and dogs in the backyard. I watered my vegie garden just to be cool.
