Six monthly review
In the passed six months I have quit my old job cruising around the streets of Werribee, and instead I'm now leading a small and talented group of people in the IT dept of a progressive law firm. (A way better job, with better pay, people and prospects)
Dee and I are saving our pennies, looking forward to the day when we can return to the bank to ask them for a building loan to build on our land.
The dogs and cats strangely still need feeding every day, so I tend to do that for them.
The girls are starting to leave the nest, spending their holidays house sitting for other folk and hanging out more with their BFs.
Summer in Australia is a hot time so many things involving working outside are deferred until the day cools down. This means that if I awake early, I tend to quietly potter about the house until the girls wake up. I'm doing that right now.
I still have many projects on the go. Currently I'm trying to spend more time studying my work skills, learning about new operating systems (Ubuntu and Windows 8) and keeping current with the changes occurring in my computer world such as smartphones, tablets and workflows linked to DBs
I wore out my first set of backbeat headsets so I've grab two more pairs for this year.
2011 saw two of my relatives die peacefully (brother-in-law Pete and Auntie Gaye) RIP. Both lived in Christchurch and the earthquakes there make it very hard not to want to give up. I think of my family in ChCh everyday and wish that they can make it ok in the future.
The more I write this, the more I think of to say. I could talk about my job concerns, my car troubles, my health issues (no real dramas, its just I'm too fat and unfit) my growing and changing family, my grandkids (too cute to not mention) and my hopes and wishes for 2012. Maybe I will be able to write more about these things in the coming months...who knows...I do know that I certainly do not know what will happen tomorrow.
See you on the flip side
