Wow, what a fantastic 10 days....

I haven't posted stuff for the past ten days because there has been so much going on.

I have been gearing up for the Christmas break, but life isn't letting me take one. I have had several job interviews and I was offered two jobs in the same day on the 23rd. Both required a lot of thought and I have decided what to do.

I'm also on great terms with Dee now, with a strong understanding of what our differences have been in the past, and a desire to not let those mistakes occur again.

I've also, with Dee's help, finally taken out a loan to pay off the killer Visa card and overdraft, replacing those debts with a low rate personal loan. There was even some money left over to buy a car. It is an '89 EA Falcon wagon, white with grey interior. I will be getting it on the road in early Jan, after I get a RWC from Pino.

As with most good things, there are also bad things. One of my bad things is letting down Bren, who has been employing me for the past three months in the hope that I would become his sales person. I have decided I must tell him tomorrow.

Another bad thing is that I will also be arranging to have Zoe destroyed soon. I have 'chickened out' twice now, but she cannot grow younger, and all I'm doing is prolonging the inevitable. During this time, I will also need to have an old car (the little red Suzuki) towed away to the wreckers. It looks like I'm getting rid of a lot of old stuff in my life at the moment.

Christmas was spent in Geelong with Dee, Casey, Kirby, Nat, Jarrad and Katrina. I managed to burn the roast veggies, but Jarrad saved the turkey and his veggies were yummy.

And the Job I chose...it is a Contacting job (a bit brave and risky for me) as the IT manager for a national law firm. I start on the 4th and I am determined to make sure I bring my top game and work at 110% effort.

The Month in Review...just where do these days go?

Since May, my life has been 'on the go'. After the last FP visit, we had another person visit us, with the the same story, but she was much nicer about our woeful financial position, so Dee and I heard her out. We liked her so much that we invited her back next month for another chat. In the meantime, we have put our block of land up for sale...there goes Dee's dream of a new house for the short term. Our plan is to clear our debts with the profit from the land sale, and then start again with a deposit from what is left over. For many many years, I have had a little statement rolling around in my head. I can't recall where I heard it, but I know it was not an original idea of my own. It goes something like this... A man's weekly wage can buy a bicycle or a good suit of clothes A man's monthly wage can buy a reasonable car A man's yearly wage can buy a luxury car A man's Half yearly wage will allow him to take a family of four on an overseas holiday Three years of a Man's wage could buy a small house/home ...and all this was from 100 years ago.
