My Feng Shui is very strong...
...well at least the Networking/Mentoring part is, cos' I've just finished reading a little book on it. On the plus side, I found out that my door faces East, which is my Success direction, and my house is a good shape. It may not be in the perfect direction, (North/South) but I can take measures to avoid the 'killing breath' when I need too.
I read the book because it was fun, and hey, the Chinese have followed this stuff for centuries and they seem to be thriving. It told me that the Mentor-luck corner is the north-west, and that I needed to load that corner of the house up with metal stuff, preferably with Red stuff on it to show that it is Feng Shui'd. It also said that the WORST thing to put in this area is an open flame, like a gas cooker. This is a bit of a bugger, because the north-west corner of my house...Is the kitchen!! I'll be eating cold stuff from now on, unless I can create a strong wind (a la The Extractor Fan) when the evil Fire stuff is happening.
To support my bid for good luck with mentoring I had the head of a Kanga Hammer as a paper weight. It is bell shaped (which is good too) so that now sits in the corner of the kitchen. I figure I can use it as a Steak Hammer after I've washed the grease off of it :)
Seems to be working too, because I've been helped really well recently by people who shall remain nameless at present, but I'm very grateful for their help so far in my quest for a better life.
I think I will go find a steel Hammer now, painted Red, to add to my corner collection. You can't have too much Mentoring Luck.
Next Week I'll start reading the Feng Shui book about Fame, so if I become instantly famous, overnight, you will know why.
In the meantime, I'll keep falling asleep to the words of Robt A Heinlein's Between Planets. A cracking yarn, if only I can keep my eyes open. I found an old business card of mine in it from at least 5 job titles ago (Circa 1995/6) My how times have changed.
As for the past week, I talked about quitting my job with the boss on Thursday, but he wants me to keep trying to sell, so now I'm working from home at last, just like I wanted to four weeks ago.
Kirbster had a Christmas picnic at school on Friday, and Dee and I went along in support. It was very pleasant and there were nice people there too. I could grow use to meeting nice people for a change.
The weekend involved a feeble attempt to garden, and much resting in front of the TV or taking "nana naps"
Later days
