Bouncing back - again
After a couple of muggy weeks in high heat, it was a relief to finally get a few cooler days.
It's been a kinda busy two weeks with me getting a call from the bus company to have a medical check. It is no sure thing, as I'm not as fit as I used to be, but I have to try this... I scrapped through on my blood pressure and cardio, hearing and eyesight and I now need to know what my blood test turns up
My brother Paddy and his wife Kirsty are in town for the ACDC concert and Dee and I caught up with them in town on Saturday afternoon. We spent the day at the Waterside pub, which is a lot better then it was when we came to Melbourne 20 odd years ago. A lot of water has flowed past in the Yarra since then.
Super-14 rugby started again this weekend and my trusty Foxtel IQ record 6 of the 7 games including the Crusaders/Highlander game. I'm glad the Crusaders won and I managed to fast-forward thru the other games to pick up the highlights
The other major event on TV was the opening of the Winter Olympics. I watched a bit of the start and wasvery impressed by the light show
We signed more paperwork for the new house but no action as yet. A decision now needs to be made to move into the rental property or looking around for other digs. I favour a move to Cootamundra, Dee doesn't want to upset anyone, but while I don't have a job, we don't have many options.
Dee is starting her own business and that will colour everything we do as well.
Casey and Kirby are spending a lot of time with study and their respective boyfriendsso we are kind of in a transition stage towards an empty nest. Interesting times ahead in the Year of the Tiger
After talking to Paddy about what he learned from Uncle Ned about dad's early years (Pre family) I have relaised that I have forgotten more about me than I can recall. I will try to put some memories together over the next few weeks as we gather for Mum's 80th in New Zealand. Maybe in 30 years my kids will read them and understand me a little bit better.
